Special Features: The PXC 300 NoiseGard Advance is an ideal traveling companion, effectively reducing background noise on planes, trains and buses and therefore eliminating one of the main causes of stress while traveling. Users can sit back and relax with their favorite music or connect the headphones to the in-flight entertainment system â or even just wear them to enjoy some peace and quiet from the noise around them. And the PX 300 can be packed away in no time. Simply fold them together and store them in a small, shockproof case â ready for the next trip. The stylish design of the PXC 300 â brushed aluminum trim rings and high-attenuation ear pads made of a new kind of leatherette â is reflected in their natural, detailed sound. A special bass tube provides the necessary power at low frequencies. With the PXC300 NoiseGard Advance, Sennheiser has even succeeded in further enhancing the NoiseGard active noise compensation system. It now has a much lower sensitivity towards interference from such sources as cell phones. Constant low-frequency noise is reduced by up to 15 dB â even 10 dB would be perceived as halving the volume. Power is supplied to the NoiseGard electronics by two AAA batteries, providing the traveler with up to 80 hours of peace and quiet. Without batteries, the PXC 300 works just like normal headphones with passive noise attenuation. In addition to a handy carrying case, the PXC 300 comes with an adapter for audio systems and in-flight entertainment systems.

Sennheiser PXC 300 Noise Cancelling Headphones Reviews
Customer Rating:

Summary: Good value
Comment: The PXC300's sound quality is very good, bright and pleasant. Noise reduction is respectable, not quite as good as Bose, but then it is only half the price. The noise reduction is significant and it definitely helps on long flights. The compact, light-weight design makes it comfortable and easy to carry. The folding mechanism seems a bit fragile so I'm happy to have the hard case. However, the cables are a bit stiff so watch out for pinching them in the case's zipper when you close it.

Summary: Don't fly without it
Comment: This was my first set of noise-cancelling headphones, and I must say, the difference is astounding. Yes, the sound is good - yes, they're portable - yes, they have use-extending adapters, but the real difference is how you feel when you get off the plane.
I find myself much more relaxed, particularly after a long flight, when using these headphones. I've forgotten to bring them along on occasion, and the difference is significant.
I admit to using guinea pigs - I bought them as gifts to clients before buying one for myself. One client reported to me that he already owned a much more expensive set of Bose noise-reducing headphones, but preferred these Sennheisers.
I bought one for myself, and one for my wife. We love them, and leave them on every possible moment on the aircraft.
One tip - make sure you locate the "L" and "R" designations for the correct ear, as putting them on wrong can lead to sore ears.

Summary: Good, compact NC headphones
Comment: Very high performance noise canceling headphones without the bulk. Fairly comfortable to wear even while sleeping.

Summary: Great for airplane travel
Comment: A great, lightweight NC headset. I do a lot of traveling in all types of airplanes, and the 300s keep the noise out while providing excellent sound reproduction. In a jet airliner, the overall effect is terrific. In a turboprop, it is a godsend. The unique folding feature makes the included zipper pouch easy to store. I also like the airliner dual plug adapter, in case I want to watch what's on the airplane's entertainment system.

Summary: Wonderful headphones... except they broke after a month
Comment: I used these in a noisy cubicle environment and was very impressed at how it blocked out people's voices and ambient noise. They don't quite cover your entire ear but pretty close. The cords are nice and sturdy which was great (the Panasonic noise-canceling earbuds i got had very flimsy cords which caused a wiring malfunction).
BUT. After 1 month of daily use and being very ginger with my $220 purchase, I turned on the noise canceling one day and there was a loud, and eventually tortuous, static sound coming from one headphone. With the feature turned off it didn't happen. I returned them hoping for a replacement but I got a refund instead. I may try the similar PXC 250's which were very highly ranked by Consumer Reports. I'm keeping all the original packaging and invoice just in case!!!
