Summary: PRODUCT AND DESIGN OF THE CENTURY
Comment: This is my first apple product in 10 years and it is truly a work of wonder, beautifully designed and works perfectly, no one should be without one. I got it yesterday and I am all smiles today, imagine having your whole CD collection in this tiny device.

Be warned that the PC version does not automatically sync up when you connect to the USB port, you have to click on the Sync button in musicmatch.

Summary: CDs are out and iPods are IT!
Comment: I can't believe I lived so long without owning one of these babies! I've downloaded my entire CD collection and mp3 list onto my 15gb iPod and haven't touched a CD since! I take my iPod everywhere (which is easy because it fits in the palm of you hand!) I bought an accessory to listen to it through the car speakers, and at home I plug it into my spare computer speakers and I never have to worry about lugging my fat CD case or switching CDs when I get bored. Trust me; the cost is nothing when you think about how much use you get out of it. As of now I have 900 songs on my iPod and I'm still adding more. Transferring songs is easy and takes much less time than burning a CD! I got my new iPod out of a rebate after I dropped and broke the old version and I am so glad I did, because this new version has so much more to offer! Buy it today and you won't be sorry.

Summary: Good idea, but bad execution.
Comment: I bought an Ipod because I wanted the space and the small size. While it was small, and spacious, it was impossible to use. Doing anything on it is overcomplicated. Putting on multiple playlists is damn near impossible. I would recommend just buying an MP3 cd player and change cd's every once and awhile. Because the Ipod is too damn hard to use to be useful.

Summary: 15 GB Ipod Honest Review
Comment: I purchased my 15gb ipod and I decided to put down the extra $[$$] for the 15gb instead of the 10gb, which i think was a very good idea. One of the reasons for my choosing the 15 over the 10 is actually the price. Many do not realize, but in the long run, the 15 comes out to be cheaper. This is because of accessories. At first, I was planning on buying the 10 and then adding on sme accessories such as the dock and remote (which come free with the 15 and 30 models) but once i got to the shoping cart, i soon realized that it was actually more expencive than the 15!

Now if you are smart (like i was hehe) you are probably reading this review to get some insight from real people who have real opinions on the purchase you are about to make. I, a windows xp home user, have had no problems whats so ever with synching, charging, or installing. You will also [hear of] users complain about music match. I am not sure what program [they]'ve been using, but my experience with music match has been a dream. By far, music match is the best and most user-friendly media player out there for windows. And with music match jukebox plus (witch is what ships with all ipods) the limits are endless. If you download songs off the net, you wil often fnd yourself with incomplete song tags. Feilds such as "artist" "album" etc will often be missing. With music match plus, all one has to do is use the feature "look up tags" and music match will automatically connect to their servers and repair the tag and even download the album art! All in a matter of seconds.

I think that the sensitivity was perfectly calibrated and apple has sone a fantastic job with the design of this mp3 player. The touch wheel makes scrolling through thousands of songs a breeze and the backlit buttons and screen look amazing.
Besides the AAC file format (which will be available to pc users by the end of 03') all extra features are available to pc users. Its easy to creat contacts, notes, and calender dates on the pc using microsoft outlook. And to add them on ur ipod, you simply just drag and drop like it were a hard drive instead of an mp3 player, which it is!

Probably like you, before purchasing anything, i compare it to its leading competetors. Currently, the only competition that even comes close is the nomad zen. Both are firewire400 and usb 2.0 compatable, but the zen just cant match up to the style, ease of use, and compactness of that of the ipod. Just the box of the ipod alone says it all. Everyone knows the most fun out of recieving a gift or making a purchase is opening the box and laying your eyes on it for the first time.
This is definately the best mp3 player out there.

I admit that the ipod is not cheap, but the price is very fair for what you get. If you are gonna spend over $$$ for a portable music player, you should buy the best, dont settle because you will regret it later.

Summary: A revolutionary device - easy to use, small and cool-looking
Comment: Apple has long been considered the industry leader in technology and features in personal computing. They were the first company to use the 3.5" floppy drive in its consumer products (and one of the first to eliminate it), as well as the mouse and the graphical user interface that has been imitated by other software manufacturers. Since the introduction of the iMac a few years ago, Apple has been the undisputed design champ of computers and electronic devices.

Both performance and style are combined quite nicely in the new iPod. I've always heard that the thing was "about as big as a deck of cards". Those people are wrong - it's about as big as a deck of cards if half of the deck was missing. It's very light and sturdy - I carry it around in my pants pocket w/o any skipping, although I recommend purchasing an armband and case for the iPod if you plan to jog or do vigrous exercise while wearing it (see below). I can't believe a 15 GB hard drive sits in the little plastic and chrome case.

It works flawlessly with iTunes for Mac OSX or Windows. The spartan instruction manual does not really give detailed instructions on how to create custom playlists and why some of my artists are listed multiple times on the iPod. After 5 minutes visiting Apple's support site and another 15 minutes of experimenting with playlists in iTunes (hint: select every song by that artist, select "command+I" and you can edit the artist name for every entry to avoid misspellings, hidden spaces, etc).

I also bought an extra power cable so I can listen to music at work (via self-powered speakers) and at home (via my stereo system) without losing battery power.

Now I bring my iPod everywhere for easy access to my 3700 songs. The iPod has definitely cut down on my CD-listening time because it is so small and easy to use. It is very sleek-looking and the backlight feature makes the buttons glow orange and the LCD display glow blue. The buttons are very touch-sensitive, so Apple included a locking feature on the iPod that's similar to the ones found on portable CD players. I found the buttons a bit TOO sensitve for my liking, but the lack of moving parts means a more reliable MP3 player.

The 15GB iPod also ships with a black belt clip, a wired remote that attaches to the headphones, a 6 pin to 4 pin FireWire adapter, a power cable and a docking station so the iPod can stand upright and connect to a computer or stereo system.

As I wrote above, I can't recommend use of the iPod while jogging or while exercisting vigorously, even if you purchase a third-party jogging armband. Since it stores music on a hard drive rather than a compact flash card, the iPod is susceptible to skipping and freezing if bounced around continuously. Mine locks up after jogging for about 20 minutes.

Other than the lousy manual (Apple has a pretty decent support web site, BTW), my only other gripe is the chrome back to the iPod. Sure, it looks totally cool and functions as a handy mirror, but shiny chrome quickly becomes smudged and smeared chrome after only one or two handlings.

But those are minor complains to what is looking like the neatest and most innovative personal audio device since the original Sony Walkman.
